Basel, 2021
The feministic fitness session reflects on the her_stories concerning the appropriation and the following occupation of the Alte Stadtgärtnerei 30 years ago. Visitors of the today‘s called St. Johanns-Parc (former Stadtgärtnerei) were invited to join the artistic research by activating their muscular memory through listening and movement.
As part of Treibstoff Theatertage Basel 2021 the group DANKE1000 invited the festival audience to three movement-sessions in the St.Johannspark. In summertime the park is frequented utilized by people who do different kind of sports, such as fitness, yoga and many more. Around 30 years ago, before the area became a public park, there was the huge occupied terrain Alte Stadtgärtnerei also known as statzgi. The production reflects the her_stories around the appropriation and the following occupation and called it into the muscular memory of the participants.
